It's Nakiri Time!
Here it is! My 4th knife and first Nakiri. Over a month of work went into this knife and I couldn't be more proud of the result. Everything came out just as planned with the exception of the handle finish. I had something a little more unique planned, however, all the tests I did were unsuccessful. It's something I'll keep working at on future builds, but for now, this will have to do.
The steel is 5160 with a stonewash finish. The handle is Live Oak that's been burned, then coated with oil and wax. The bolster plate is copper and has been textured with a ballpeen and the copper pin is domed.
Let me know what you guys think, good or bad, I wanna hear it. I'm always looking to improve so please pick it apart, you won't hurt my feelings!
That's a nice blade. Damned impressive for being your fourth! Nicely done. I actually like the handle. But I'm a sucker for copper and darkened woods.
